LEBO WANTS TO SEE COP BEHIND BARS

LEBO Dlamini feels she has been failed by the justice system. The 36-year-old from Vrede in the Free State claims her ex-lover, a cop, hit her while driving a state car last month but was never punished. Lebo said the man was based in Standerton, Mpumalanga and she used to visit him there. She said he ran her over after they got into an argument because she suspected he was cheating. “I kept visiting him but then I started suspecting he was cheating on me.” “I was with him in Mpumalanga when we had an argument about the woman I thought he was seeing on the side. “We were in his state car when the woman arrived in another car. I confronted her and we started swearing at each other. When I climbed out of the car, I fell and felt the car go over my leg,” she said. Lebo said she realised her boyfriend had run her over. She said he fled the scene and she was helped by security guards, who called an ambulance. “I’m shocked to hear he is still working even after I opened a case against him. I want him behind bars. The foot he ran over is so swollen I can’t even get a shoe on it. “I feel as if my case will just vanish because he likes to boast about being a cop who can’t be arrested.” Police spokesman Captain Fanie Ntlabathe said a case of reckless and negligent driving was opened but no arrest had been made yet. “We are waiting for statements from a witness.”
