Provincial police spokesman, Lt Col Thulani Zwane said, “As from 2016, the victim was repeatedly raped in Eshowe. It is alleged that the accused would send his daughter to the shop to purchase an item when it was dark. He would then follow the victim and meet her on her way back.”
The accused would then rape her and threaten to kill her should she report the heinous crime to anyone.
“This happened over a period. The accused used the same modus operandi at all times,” added Lt Col Zwane.
In September 2017, the victim broke her silence and reported the matter to her teacher at school. A case of rape was opened at the local police station.
