Loaded and delivered. To everyone who took the time to deliver the mountain of goods at the Vetus Schola HCW and HFW collection point in Victoria road for the Nomzamo fire victims. THANK YOU.
We managed to squeeze everything into 5 bakkies and then the “convoy” blitzed into Nomzamo to meet Councillor Bulie and her team.
If any of you wondered whether your donations made a differance well I can tell you that the tears and emotions when we arrived made us all feel very small.
Two little girls who have nothing left except the clothes on their backs each got a stuffed toy animal that they received with tears running down their faces and spent the rest of time we were there hugging these toys as if they were the last things on earth.
We headed back to base to find more donations waiting with community members still contacting our control room to find out if they could still bring items down.
We will continue using the Vetus Schola Victoria road premises as a collection point and will ferry the items out to Nomzamo Councillor Bulie as and when they come in.
Once again THANK YOU to an amazing community for helping to get these people back on their feet.
