Locally Yours Market set to pop up at Bayworld

Update
Port Elizabeth

By Jesica Slabbert – Dec 19, 2018After hosting a widel successful Chirstmas market at the Tramways Building on the 17th of December, the Locally Yours Market will be hosting a special pop-up market at Bayworld on Thursday the 20th December.Check out what went down at the Locally Yours Market this year:The head of the Locally Yours Market, Annelize Botha, was very excited about the pop-up market.“Exactly 751 days ago I started my pursuit to find a ‘formal platform to showcase informal entrepreneurship’ in the Eastern Cape. Returning to Port Elizabeth five years ago I was in awe of just how many entrepreneurs there were who were making the most beautiful handmade crafts and more importantly a living from their handmade items,” said Annelize. The market will be open between the hours of 10am and 3pm, and entrance is free for the whole day.“We opted not to charge an entrance fee and instead we have teamed up with the Animal Anti-Cruelty League and most of stalls have collection tins so that attendees can contribute in their own way, should they feel comfortable to do so,” said Annelize. Not only can guests enjoy the stalls and items on sale for the market, but they can experience the displays and creatures of Port Elizabeth’s own Bayworld as well.Young and old alike are encouraged to come and visit this special market. Special events will be taking place throughout the day from a penguin and seal presentation at 11am to a snake interaction at 12pm.“Our ultimate goal is to create a platform that is open during week days for the benefit of tourists and visitors who would appreciate supporting local handmade products and produce,” Annelize explained.“Many of our vendors have already been ‘discovered’ and are now being stocked locally, nationally and some have even had international enquiries about their products.”For more information about the market and what stalls you can expect, visit their Facebook page.Follow more RNEWS articles, subscribe to our YouTube channel and for breaking news LIKE us on Facebook.
