Provincial police spokeswoman, Col Thembeka Mbhele said that on October 23, 2017, the accused fatally shot Sithembiso Maduna (22) and injured another man on Musa Road in the KwaMashu Hostel.
“The victims and the accused had an argument while having a conversation at the premises. The accused left and later returned with a firearm,” she explained.
Mhlongo fired shots and Maduna, wounded another male and fled the scene on foot.
“The deceased sustained gunshot wounds to the head and chest,” added Col Mbhele.
Following this, cases of murder and attempted murder were opened at the KwaMashu police station for investigation.
