A stolen vehicle was found abandoned at the entrance to Cornubia after it was stolen from a man at gunpoint.
Police officers from Verulam SAPS were commended for being vigilant in recovering vehicles and conducting regular patrols in high crime areas.

Verulam SAPS were informed of the incident shortly after the crime.
The victim alleged that as he approached his premises and was jumping out of his Toyota Hiace, he was accosted by an armed assailant.

The victim stated that the suspect forced him to exit his vehicle at gunpoint, before fleeing with it. Shots were during the carjacking in an attempt to intimidate the victim.
The Verulam SAPS Crime Prevention Unit were patrolling the Cornubia area when they noticed the Toyota Hiace abandoned at the entrance of Cornubia.
