With the aim of fundraising for the construction of a new mundil, the Northern Phoenix Hindu Temple Society will be hosting two events: a show presented by Flash Entertainers and a dinner and dance boat cruise.
The Northern Phoenix Hindu Temple Society has been in existence for the past 30 years.
Through various fundraising initiatives, the society has managed to survive.
The new board, currently led by the chairman, Akesh Jeenarayan, and vice-chairman, Suren Sowman, have taken the decision to build a temple which will cater for 250 devotees.

The estimated cost for the mundil is approximately R1, 800, 000 and these fundraising initiatives have been planned in aid of this cause.
The Flash Entertainers will present a Nagara show on May 24, at 8pm. This will be followed by a dinner and dance aboard a boat at a later date.
With these two events, the temple hopes to begin a fund to get the foundation of the ground.
