Community leader, Mr Sakhile Maphalala, professor, Dasarath Chetty, youth pastor, Mr Mlandeli Magadla, founder and chairman of the Mayibuyi Youth Organisation, Mr Siviwe Benya, founder of the Pan African Institute for Evident, Professor PaliJobo Lehohla, former statistician-general of South Africa and chairman- United Nations Statistics Commission, Prof Dr Gyorgy Szell from the University of Osnabruck Germany and Hitotsubashi University Tokyo and lecturer at North West University of Mafikeng Campus, Tshepang Bright Molale at the conference.
Phoenix-based community youth organisation, Mayibuyi Youth Organisation, was invited by Prof Dasarath Chetty to the second International Public Participation Conference, which was held at the Durban ICC, recently.
The organisation’s proud members were provided with leadership knowledge on how best they can help assist to improve lives of excluded and marginalised people from community decision-making.

The importance of improving service delivery for the community was also emphasised.
At the conference, everyone was reminded to play a role in leading the government to improve the lives of people by addressing social challenges.
Some of the aspects included poverty, crime, drugs, alcohol abuse, women and children abuse, unemployment, youth involvement, HIV/Aids, racism, xenophobia and humans rights protection.
