Members of the Western Cape Flying Squad have arrested four foreign nationals in connection with the possession of abalone worth several million rand at Milnerton. Police spokesperson, FC van Wyk, says the officers followed up on information of abalone being stored at a warehouse in Montague Drive. He says they seized more than 19 thousand dry abalone, more than five thousand wet abalone, nearly 180 thousand rand in cash and two vehicles. Van Wyk says the suspects, aged 45, 50, 54 and 56, have been charged under the Living Marine Resources Act and are expected to appear in the Cape Town Magistrates court soon.
