The social crime prevention and communications unit of Verulam SAPS made a tangible difference as part of Mandela Day.
Keeping the spirit of Madiba alive, the station commander of Verulam SAPS, Brig Dludla, together with police officers, spent their time giving back to a local day-care centre in the area.
The little ones were treated to delicious meals.
Calling their inner child out to play, the social crime prevention and communications unit spent Mandela Day singing, drawing and playing with kindergarteners.

In an effort to make more of a difference, they also painted the day-care centre as well.
They pledged to spend more than 67 minutes at the facility, proving their commitment to spreading joy.
Children had lots of fun in the jumping castle.
The police officers treated the toddlers to delicious meals. The little ones also had tons of fun in the jumping castle.
It was a memorable day for all involved.
