Men in blue commended for swift arrest in Phoenix

Quick action by Phoenix SAPS led to the arrest of a 29-year-old robbery suspect in the Foresthaven area, recently.
On the day, Cnst R Singh and Cnst TD Pillay were on duty performing crime prevention duties when they heard a patrol vehicle calling for back up on police radio.

The constables immediately responded to the call and were informed by the police that the suspects fitting the description of a robbery fled into the busy area near a school in Foresthaven.
The cops entered the bushy area in search of the suspects and successfully apprehended one of the suspects and upon searching him, found a gold coloured Samsung cellphone.
The complainant later identified it as hers.

The suspect was arrested and detained at Phoenix SAPS for robbery.
Cpt Louise Naidoo, communications officer of Phoenix SAPS, said, “Thanks to the swift action of the police officers, the suspect was arrested and the complainant received her cellphone back. The suspect will be charged and appeared in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court,” she said.
