Metro Police have arrested four suspects after they were caught with housebreaking tools in their car when they were pulled over by officers for a traffic related offence in Sea Point. The four men, aged between 32 and 42 years, were travelling in two cars, when one was stopped after the driver made an illegal U-turn. Metro Police spokesperson, Ruth Solomons, says the offcers then searched the vehicles and found the housebreaking tools. She says two of the men were also linked to a case of a stolen vehicle in Durban: “Metro Police officers who spotted the traffic offence also noticed that the number plate on the VW Polo matched that of a vehicle reported to be involved in housebreakings. Officers stopped the driver of the Polo, as well as a second vehicle they suspected was with the Polo. Their vigilance paid off, when they discovered a number of tools which could be used to break into houses and cars. Four suspects, aged between 32 and 42 were arrested and detained at Sea Point SAPS.”
