In the early hours of this morning around 03:00am while our local community response security was responding to a call of two suspicious guys in Khwezi, the security intercepted the two suspects who had a big bag but dropped it and fled. Upon inspection it was established that inside the bag there were appliances and other household items. See attached, however the community response security doesn’t know from where the items were taken because they intercepted the suspects on the streets. If you had a house break-inn in Thembokwezi get into contact with our local community response security.
More activity happened as our local response security moved from Khwezi to Thembani, as there were about three shots that were fired from Thembani around Hope Street. When the local security response arrived it was quite, but as the vehicle drove towards Capital drive two armed criminals appeared from the open field and started firing shots at the local security response vehicle. When the vehicle made a U-turn the suspects fired more shots and ran away using the open field as an escape route towards Site C. One bullet went into the vehicle and hit one of our local security response personnel, but through the grace of the Almighty it hit on the foot but grazed the safety boots on both side didn’t make any injury to our security response team members.
This is the second day in a row same time around 03:00am shots are being fired by thugs. We need vigilance and SAPS is working on the empty cartridges from the bullets that were fired we hope for leads. We appeal to community members who have information to please report to SAPS immediately.
