Mothers who have lost children to gang violence will march to Parliament tomorrow. The march is organised by a group called Moms Move for Justice. It comes amid increased police operations to fight gang violence on the Cape Flats, where people are shot every day. Community members, religious leaders, NPO’s and other organisations will participate in the march. The organisation’s Lesley Wyngaard says the march will start at the Castle with a vigil officiated by religious leaders in memory of the lives lost, babies and children sexually abused and murdered and the many women who were raped. Participants of the march will also bring along an item of clothing to illustrate their loss and struggle and the trauma associated with it.
