Mount Moriah couple survive terrifying home invasion

A Mount Moriah man was robbed in his home by three armed attackers who escaped with goods to the value of R13, 000, last Tuesday.

The victim alleges he was sitting in his lounge with his fiance. Suddenly, an unknown man appeared and pointed two firearms at the complainant while two other suspects opened the gate and entered the house.
The suspects demanded the complainant’s firearm.
When he informed the suspects that he did not have one, the perpetrators covered him with a jacket and ransacked the house.

Items taken included an Acer laptop worth R4500, a Hisense 59 inch TV valued at R7500, a Russel Hobbs steam iron worth R800, two cellphones with a total value of R2, 800 and R200 cash.
The suspects then locked the victims inside their own home and fled the scene.

Communications officer of Phoenix SAPS, Cpt Louise Naidoo, said, “The scene was attended by W/O Pillay and Cnst Naidoo. A case of house robbery was opened and is currently under investigation.”
