A 42-year-old man was arrested for murder just days after he had committed the brutal act.
It is alleged that on March 1 at about 10pm, the victim was at his friend’s house in Mount Moriah when the accused was questioning him about love bites, which were on his daughter.

The accused became angry and threw a cellphone at the victim, who at that time was allegedly kneeling down and apologising to the accused.
The accused then stood up and picked up his cellphone. He then suddenly fired a shot at the victim.

The accused then rushed the victim to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital where he was declared dead.
Communications officer of Phoenix SAPS, Cpt L Naidoo, said, “The accused was later arrested and appeared in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court where he was refused bail and was remanded back into custody at Westville Prison. He will re-appear in court on March 24.”
