YAOUNDE, CAMEROON ~ THE number of people displaced by the crisis in Cameroon’s English-speaking region has risen to more than 430 000.This amid humanitarian organisations disclosing that many people are hiding in the bush with no support. Most of those forced to flee their homes are without proper shelter and sanitation facilities, clean water, food and access to healthcare.“We are deeply worried by the ongoing conflict and increasing displacement figures,” said David Manan, country director for the Norwegian Refugee Council. Manam appealed to parties in the conflict to ensure civilians were able to safely access life-saving assistance. – CAJ NEWS
