The National Arts Council of South Africa (NAC) is inviting registered arts organisations and companies within the arts sector to apply for the three-year arts organisation support funding.
Registered arts organisations and companies have until June 28, 2019 to submit their three-year business plans for funding.
This will be the NAC’s first round of arts organisation support funding with the new programmes following the entity’s strategic realignment in 2018.
An online application form and business plan can be submitted for funding within the following programmes: social cohesion and nation building, innovation, design and creation of new work, capacity building, strategic initiatives as well as arts platforms, showcase, exhibitions and festivals.
Projects proposed should be of national significance taking into account the creation of new works, arts development, arts promotion, job creation, capacity building in arts entrepreneurship and facilitation of access to the arts.
Furthermore, proposals that promote environmental sustainability, nation building and social cohesion and have a strong community base in collaboration with others working in similar fields will be preferable.
The call for funding will close on June 28 at 5pm and successful applications will be announced on August 31, 2019.
Applicants are required to complete the relevant online application form, attach a three-year business plan and comply with the funding criteria and guidelines which are obtainable from the NAC office, website and via email on request.
Proposed projects must demonstrate impact and value for the communities they implemented in and should also demonstrate at least two of the following outcomes: economic value, creative value, social value, therapeutic value and educational value.
Arts organisations and companies are also encouraged to visit the NAC website for funding guidelines and to familarise themselves with the enhanced NAC strategy to align their applications with it.
