Cupcakes of Hope will be hosting South Africa’s seventh National Cupcake Day for Kids with Cancer at various malls including the Gateway and Cornubia Mall on September 29.
This event is a community driven project where Cupcake Angels ‘bake’ a difference in the lives of children with cancer.
Cupcakes of Hope is a non-profit company and public benefit organisation started by Sandy Cipriano in 2012.
Their mission is to raise awareness of childhood cancer and funds for kids with cancer who are in need of medical and financial assistance. They do this predominantly through their love of baking cupcakes.
What sets them apart from other charities is that they ask volunteers, also known as Cupcake Angels, to ‘bake’ a difference in the lives of their cancer warriors.
Cipriano said, “We believe that everyone can make a difference in this world, all you need is a bit of time and loads of love. The only requirement to become a Cupcake Angel is that your cupcakes must be made with love!”

The dedication and love from amazing volunteers have enabled them to bless so many kids fighting cancer over the years.
“Our Cupcake Angels range from as young as three to ninety year olds. Anyone can become a Cupcake Angel,” she said.
Cupcakes of Hope assists up to 70 cancer patients very month by paying towards their medical treatments or other day-to-day expenses like food, clothing and transport for hospital visits.
All of the cancer patients go through a stringent registration process, which includes the submission of doctors’ letters specifying their diagnosis.
Becoming a Cupcake Angel is by far the sweetest way to save a life.
