Sandile Zulu, popularly known as ‘Dopey’, together with his brother, Mduduzi, better known as ‘Prolly’, are the duo that make up ‘New Teenz’.
With the South African hip hop industry being an impenetrable industry to break into, Mduduzi and Sandile Zulu, better known as ‘New Teenz’, have effortlessly made their mark. The duo, who also happen to be siblings, started their musical journey back in 2008.
They started making music in their back room with their older brother Siyabonga Zulu who produced their first song. The duo have proven time and time again that success has very little to do with what you have but where you are going.
The musical brothers managed to produce good quality music in their homemade studio. With a computer and sub-standard speakers, the brothers have attested that success takes time, patience, sacrifice and a lot of failure along the way.

Like the mythical Phoenix, the Zulu’s rose from their humble beginnings of Inanda to greater heights.
One of their many career highlights was when they performed at the Fact Durban Rocks in 2016. Performing at such a prestigious and renowned event granted the ‘Teenz’ the opportunity to rub shoulders and even acquaint with some of the biggest hip hop artists in the country.
Drawing inspiration from both local and international artists like New boys, B5, Jozi, Zola 7, Lil Wayne, AB crazy, ASAP, Lil Twist, Zola 7 and Tory Lane, the young artists still strive to keep their music as authentic as possible.
Opening up about their latest offering ‘New Teenz’ revealed that they have new music out with new collaborations.
“We will be releasing three songs. One of our three songs will be featuring Saudi from Ambitious Records,” the duo said.
