Induna Mpiyakhe Myeni beamed from ear to ear when he took possession of his brand new car after battling with his old vehicle for a number of years.

The new vehicle comes as an early Christmas present for the family man, who was only too happy to travel to Empangeni to collect the vehicle.

“As a father of nine children and with five grandchildren, a vehicle is a necessity. I am grateful and look forward to driving this vehicle around,” he said.

“As a pioneer in banking the unbanked, our purpose is to provide financial services to the people of KZN, particularly in poor and marginalised areas, in the form of savings, lending and transactional products. This includes finance for persons who would not be granted financing by the traditional banking sector,” said Shane Moodley, head of segments at Ithala SOC Limited.
