2 Arrests : Herschell Street: Housebreaking with intent to commit an offence unknown to the Public Prosecutor:
On Thursday 10th August 2017 at 12:20 our control room received a report from a contractor working on one of the Vetus Schola client’s premises in Herschell street, of what appeared to be a housebreaking in progress at a residence in the same street.
Shift Senior Ryno and Response Officers Albert and Jordaan attended.
Upon arrival at the premises the culprits were nowhere to be seen.
A description was obtained and after a brief scanning of the area two male individuals fitting the description were traced.
The individuals were searched and found to be in possession of a screw driver and super glue.
The fingertips of both suspects were also coated in dried superglue which is a Modus Operandi utilised by housebreakers to conceal their fingerprints during criminal activities.
A witness in the street confirmed that the same two individuals had been skulking around the street earlier and asking for water.
Be alert everyone, these are common tactics utilised by criminals to ascertain if there is anyone at the premises.
Constable Scheepers from the SAPS attended and took the two culprits into custody for further questioning and screening.
Well Done to Response Officers Albert and Jordaan and Shift Senior Ryno.
