Compassionate members of the organisation together with the pupils, who welcomed the generous donation.
The Phoenix Advice, Dawah and Care Centre, a non-profit organisation based in Rydalvale, donated over 100 tracksuits and blankets to the underprivileged pupils of Greenbury Primary School, last Thursday.
The donation is part of the organisation’s yearly winter warmth initiative. The centre is not only involved in the winter initiative drive but as well as several other community upliftment projects in Phoenix.
With a daily feeding scheme, counselling services, skills training, distribution of food hampers and meat, pre-school and creche initiatives and seminars, the organisation prides itself in making a difference in Phoenix.

Relying on generous donors for funds, food and other donations, the organisation strives to maintain its outreach programmes and to continue serving the poor in Phoenix and surrounding areas.
Rookaya Bobat, secretary of the organisation, shared that the socio-economic conditions, such as unemployment and substance abuse, among other challenges, inspired the organisation to assist the underprivileged in the communities.
“Our organisation strives to cater and benefit community member, who stand in need of feeding schemes, counselling services, skills training, distribution of food hampers and meat, pre-school and creche initiatives as well as seminars,” Bobat said.
