Park rangers have launched an extensive search for a lion that escaped from the Karoo National Park near Beaufort West. Three years ago another three-year-old male lion, Sylverster, went missing and was later found. SANParks spokesperson, Janine Raftopoulos, says trackers are doing all they can to locate the animal. “They continued to track the lion and they have informed the Municipal manager and land owners as well as the disaster management team and the minute we then find the lion it will be captured and taken back to the park.” (Photo of Sylvester after his recapture in 2016)
