PESCO Karate Club’s Mickaylen Maharaj excelled at three championships, that were held recently.
The young and dedicated karateka took the silver medal in Cape Town on March 15 and 16, in Bloemfontein on April 12 and 13 and in the Arnold Classic Invitational held in Gauteng from May 17 to 19.
A proud Sensei Raj Govender said, “Mickaylen is a true champion. He has been training very hard to achieve his goals.”

He attributes his success to his instructors, Sensei Raj Govender and Shihan Brandon Pillay and his parents.
“PESCO Karate Club have created some of the best karate students from Phoenix and surrounding areas who have gone on to achieve great things in their personal and work life. Karate teaches one discipline and it is that discipline which my students have carried through into all walks of life,” said Sensei Govender.
