Phoenix police are working around the clock to establish the whereabouts of two suspects, who are wanted for a carjacking incident.
It is alleged by the victim that on Thursday at about 10am, he was on the side of the Phoenix Highway, near Gandhi Park, where he runs a welding business.

He had his blue 1985 Toyota Hilux parked under a tree. Two men, armed with firearms, approached him. The suspects forced him into his bakkie where he was seated in between them.
They drove him towards Eastbury.
A report issued by Phoenix SAPS stated that the bakkie then experienced a mechanical problem.

Due to this distraction, the victim managed to push the suspect and flee. When the victim returned after a few minutes, the bakkie was missing.
His two cellphones and cash worth R2000 were taken by the suspects. No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.
