The accused, Dickson Naidoo, said in court that he needed no legal representation and that he was determined to represent himself.
It is alleged that Naidoo slit his wife’s throat with what is described as a large kitchen knife. His wife’s lifeless body was found lying in a pool of blood.
It was after Naidoo turned himself in at the Phoenix police station that police and emergency services rushed to the scene to confirm his confession.
Naidoo’s wife was assessed and found to show no signs of life.
