Phoenix police probe armed robbery in Industrial Park | Phoenix Sun

A man was robbed at gunpoint after being forced to stop on the road by suspects in a black Toyota bakkie, last Wednesday.

According to police reports, the victim was at Industrial Park at about 7:30am.
He alleged that he had just bought plastic bags and placed them in his white Nissan bakkie. As he was driving, a black Toyota 4×4 suddenly overtook him and stopped in front of his vehicle.
Two unknown men exited the vehicle, withdrew firearms and pointed them at the complainant and his passenger.

A third suspect appeared and produced a firearm, he held it to the complainant’s head and demanded that he exit the vehicle.
The suspects removed the victim’s wallet containing R3, 000 and 350 bails of plastic bags and his Samsung cellphone.

Cpt Louise Naidoo, communications officer of Phoenix SAPS, said, “No shots were fired during the incident and no injuries were reported. All three suspects fled the scene.”
