Phoenix SAPS would like to warn the community to avoid walking by themselves and always remain vigilant of their surroundings.
This comes after a recent robbery incident at the Phoenix Plaza.

The complainant alleges that last Monday at about 2pm, she was walking near the plaza when suddenly an unknown man approached her from behind, grabbed her by the throat and pointed a knife at her.
Fearing what the suspect would do, the complainant kept still.
The suspect then grabbed the complainant’s tablet which was in her bag as well as her wallet containing R700 and ran away.

The complainant tried to scream for help but unfortunately, the suspect slipped away in the crowd.
Cpt Louise Naidoo, communications officer of Phoenix SAPS, said, “A case of robbery was opened and is being investigated. No arrests have been made yet.”
