President of the Cape Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Janine Myburgh, has pleaded with…

President of the Cape Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Janine Myburgh, has pleaded with government to find solution to load shedding following the implementation of Level 3 by Eskom today. She says businesses have not been informed as to what the problem is. Myburgh says she does not believe this is just a maintenance issue as it could have been resolved a long time ago. Mayburgh says it could also be the result of poor planning: “I understand that Stage 3 is today and if we don’t have these stages we will have a total blackout so we can’t have that at all. We must find a solution and I understand that the board of Eskom has also asked for an investigation into this. It’s shocking that they are asking for an investigation, now rather late than never but the problem must be addressed.”
