  1. It once happened to me, my tank is 45l and i was driving long distance, stopped at a garage, opened the tank and went inside to get refreshments, my tank was going for quarter empty not even empty when i came back it showed that they put 65 liters and i had to take out my car manual and which states that the tank is 45l. Manager came out as i refused to pay for that and i ended up paying for 30l. Be careful drivers

  2. I had a similar issue. What happens is when the fuel pump registers that it’s reached the max level in your tank it will ‘keep going ‘ but is actually pumping the fuel back into the fuel pump and not into your car. The pump will still show the litres adding up. It’s ridiculous! I always ask them to stop at a certain point and not try and squeeze more into my tank.

  3. I personally court the petrol attendant not clearing the previous fill up…and just acted as nothing wrong…eg.previous fill up was R100 then leaves it running.trigger not in it slot…then I came along wanting R300…so actually he only puts R200 in my vehicle n pockets the R100…these guys are clever?

  4. A friend of mine took me to a garage one day to prove something. We took an empty 2l Coke container, and requested a R10 petrol. He asked me to focus on the readings while the attendant was pumping in. I couldn’t believe my eyes when the meter read R5 and there was nothing in the container. We then called out the manager but he refused to talk to us.
Not sure if it’s all the gas stations or not but there seem to be more air than fuel being sold.
