A planned highway on-ramp, which will greatly improve traffic in Rooihuiskraal in Centurion, will only be finished soonest 2020.
This was according to the Gauteng department of roads and transport.
Construction on the on-ramp in Rooihuiskraal was halted last year because of a water pipeline, which was in its path.

Due to be completed in June last year, construction was halted because of the pipe.
At the time, Rand Water said the ramp not only posed a danger to their infrastructure but also risked lives.
However, the pipeline issue had been resolved in December of last year, according to Gauteng roads and transport spokesperson Theo Nkonki.
Earlier this year the department said a bridge would be built over the pipeline.
Nkonki said the outstanding work would be completed, but under a separate contract.
“At this time the department is procuring a contractor to complete the work,” he said.

“This procurement process will only be completed in the fourth quarter of the 2019/2020 financial year.”
The department estimated the ramp would only be complete by the second quarter of the 2020/21 financial year.
A local resident’s association believed the ramp would go a long way to relieve traffic problems in the area.
In May, Reeds, Thatchfield and Rooihuiskraal residents’ association (Rethro) members Tinus Lotz and Burnie Nawn highlighted congestion at the intersection of Panorama and Rooihuiskraal roads.
Both agreed the completion of the ramp would greatly improve traffic at the intersection.
The intersection had become a “nightmare”, especially during peak hours when some motorists used the right turning lane in Panorama Road to squeeze into the left lane to turn into Rooihuiskraal Road.

“We have highlighted the issues time and again, but have yet to see any solutions being implemented,” Lotz said this week.
