Good news for fans of the British legendary band, the Stones, is that a brand-new Best Of compilation by the pioneering rock outfit from the 60s, has just hit the shelves across the globe, three years after their last Grammy Award-winning Number One album, “Blue & Lonesome”. Universal Music South Africa says the latest release, titled “HONK”, is special in that it collects 36 essential Stones tracks, and ten live recordings from three of the iconic group’s recent and sold-out international tours. The cult band, who performed in South Africa in 1995, has just begun touring America with their “No Filter” tour and has started recording material for their next studio album. It’s unknown at this stage if the evergreen rockers will include South Africa, 24 years after their historic stint on local shores, on their latest world tour. Local promoters, however, say there is a chance of the Stones coming to South Africa again, but that it would come at a high cost.
