Verulam police are investigating a case of robbery after a victim was robbed at gunpoint while depositing a large amount of cash at the Phoenix Plaza, recently.
Cpt Henry Kisten, communications officer of Verulam SAPS, said, “We are warning the community that in the event that they have to deposit a large amount of cash, they must ensure that they are escorted by armed guards.”

They are also urged to be wary of suspicious persons in their surroundings.

“Criminals are dangerous and will not hesitate to open fire on innocent bystanders to order for them to escape. Do not inform anyone of your deposits or withdrawals as this information may be leaked to criminals,” concluded Cpt Kisten.
