SOCIAL Development Minister Susan Shabangu has issued a stern warning to thugs who steal Sassa grants. She was speaking during a community outreach programme aimed at educating beneficiaries in Oakley, near Bushbuckridge in Mpumalanga.“The challenges with the latest scam are being investigated. “To those stealing social grant money, we’re coming for you.”She said cops will catch young mums who squander child grants.She said beneficiaries mustn’t give cards or pin numbers to anyone, even family members, nor expose themselves to loan sharks.She urged beneficiaries who haven’t swapped white cards to collect new gold cards. “There’s no more stress of waking up early and collapsing in long queues.“We plan to build nice post offices across the country to prepare pay points.” She handed over wheelchairs, walking sticks and food parcels to the elderly and people living with disabilities. Faizel Mokoena’s mum Hleziphi Dube was happy to receive a wheelchair, and his sister Lesego Mokoena said: “He can move around easily now.”
