Seawinds near Muizenberg in the South Peninsula has been declared a red zone for…

Seawinds near Muizenberg in the South Peninsula has been declared a red zone for ambulances. This means it is now dangerous for emergency personnel to enter the area without a police escort. This morning, two paramedics were attacked in the area, one of them physically and the other robbed of his personal belongings. There’s growing concern about increased attacks on ambulance crews around Cape Town, especially in Mitchells Plain, Khayelitsha and Elsies River. (Pic: File)

  1. Do not serve those areas full stop. Why put police in danger as well. Time that residents take control of their areas and hand over these tsotsis and gangsters to the police instead of protecting them.

  2. The area is gangridden and yet they see fit to attack paramedics id say very stupid it might be your sis bro mom dad or grandma or pa being hit by a stray bullet and medics wont be able to attend without saps escort ??

  3. “hand them over to police”…just for them to be released a day or 2 later thx to our justice system . Then they come after you and your family because you dared to turn on them. You have no idea what it’s like to live in our areas while you sitting behind your high walls and electric fences.

  4. Until the communities come to the table and undertake to help to stop these attacks….don’t go there. Also those people who swear and insult the police stop responding to their calls….in any event they the quickest to call the police when it suits them
