The body of an elderly woman was found floating in Donaldson Dam in Westonaria on Thursday, 2 January.
This was the second body to be found at the dam within weeks. A child’s body was discovered there in December.

Toddler’s body found in local dam
According to Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson, the deceased is believed to be in her early 60s.
Lefakane said a man who was fishing in the dam found the body and immediately informed the police.
“It was retrieved from the water and the woman was certified dead. An inquest was registered and the cause of death is yet to be determined,” Lefakane said.
The deceased was found wearing a brown dress a with blue and white T-shirt. Her remains have since been taken to the Carletonville Government Mortuary.
