For something extra special this festive season, try these easy-to-make Santa cookies.
85g of butter
85g of castor sugar
85g of soft brown sugar
One egg, medium
One teaspoon vanilla essence
175g self-raising flour, sieved together with
½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
85g of chocolate drops
Red ready to roll coloured icing
100g of white chocolate, melted
Icing made with:
100g of icing sugar and 50g Stork
Chocolate drops and red candy sweets
Chocolate writing icing tube
This is how it’s made:
Mix all of the ingredients and beat with a wooden spoon. Place spoons full of the mixture on a baking sheet. Bake on the middle shelf of a preheated hot oven 190° C for 10 minutes.
Allow to cool on a wire tray.
Roll out the red icing to make the ‘hat’ and stick on the biscuit with a little icing or melted chocolate.
Use the melted chocolate or icing to represent the beard and fur hat trim. Use the sweets for eyes and nose and pipe a mouth using the writing tube.
