So this morning on my way back from Strand I noticed along the road 4 characters acting very strange. I pulled off the road to watch their moves and started noticing that they hiding some stuff under their jackets and pants. As I climbed out of my vechile I noticed it’s live racing pigeons they hiding away and thats when I made my call over the radio to HCW control room and Vetus Schola as well asking for backup. After chasing the 4 suspects along Lourens River where they ran over the road into Victoria Park. I then called for backup from my fellow neighbourhood watch patrollers of Victoria Park where a plan was strategiesed to catch them. They all then ran out of Victoria Park into the open field to Lourensia Park where all 4 suspects were cought by Vetus Schola who chased to Lourensia Park when they heard that they making their way that side. 6 pigeons were confiscated from the one suspect where the suspects let 9 other pigeons loose to fly away while on the run. The owner of the pigeons were later found threw loads of calls that I had to make all over Cape Town just to make sure we have the correct owner. He came to identify the pigeons with Registration papers and all pigeons were positively identified. One pigeon we found is worth R5000. He informed us that they stole 25 pigeons all together where he just bought and import some of them from Johannesburg. It’s I big loss to him but due to great team work between HCW, Vetus Schola and Victoria Park Neighborhood Watch all 4 suspects were cought. JOB WE’LL DONE TO ALL!!
