South Africa’s entertainment diary for next year is fast filling up, and getting wilder and louder with this morning’s announcement that the legendary heavy metal band from the UK, Judas Priest, will be heading to the country in March next year for the first time. During their 40-year long career, Judas Priest has managed to scale the heights that few bands in this genre could achieve. Other groups and artists that have already confirmed for shows on local shores in 2019 include, The Cure, Lauryn Hill, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Bryan Ferry and Dutch outfit, B.Z.N (Band Zonder Naam). Meanwhile the countdown has begun to an even impressive line-up of international performers and bands that are set to enthrall their local fans from later this month to the end of the year. They include comedians Jimmy Carr and Chris Tucker, rock outfits Daughtry and Guns ‘n Roses, the sensational Calum Scott, the powerhouse tenors iL Divo, UK Indie rockers James, Islamic music superstar, Maher Zain, as well as diva Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z in December.
