Jan 10, 2020Port Elizabeth – A manhunt launched by Port Elizabeth police for an alleged murder suspect ended on Thursday when SAPS Bethelsdorp Crime Prevention members arrested him at his mother’s house in Prinsloo Street in Arcadia, Port Elizabeth.”It is alleged that on 5 January, at about 08:00, the victim Mirlene Wilson, aged 26 years old left her mother’s house in Melkbos Street in Arcadia to go to her house in Grootboom Stree,” described police spokesperson, Col Priscilla Naidu.”Shortly after her departure, the mother was informed by the community that the she had been shot in Jenniker Street.”Wilson sustained a gunshot wound on her face.”Col Naidu said that it is further alleged that an altercation between the suspect and another male broke out in the street and the suspect fired at the male when a bullet fatally struck Ms Wilson.”On Thursday, at about 10:35, Bethelsdorp Crime Prevention members arrested a 24-year-old suspect at his mother’s house.”He is charged for murder and will appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate’s Court on Friday.Follow more RNEWS articles, subscribe to our YouTube channel and for breaking news LIKE us on Facebook.
