A man was shot and killed after he attempted to deprive a RUSA officer of his firearm in Eastbury, Phoenix, on Sunday.
According to reports, at about 10:34pm, the Reaction Unit South Africa Operations Centre in Phoenix received a call from a resident in Eastbury, requesting assistance after a suspect entered his property.

“A RUSA officer was dispatched to the scene and upon arrival, found an unknown man attempting to forcefully gain entry into the premises,” a report issued by the security company stated.
The officer called for back-up when he was attacked by the suspect.
“A scuffle ensued and the suspect attempted to deprive the reaction officer of his firearm. The back-up RUSA members arrived at the scene and found the suspect with the first responder on the ground wrestling for the firearm,” the report added.

The back-up officer fired two rounds which struck the suspect on his side.
The suspect died at the scene a short while later. The injured reaction officer received medical attention.
