Six alleged thieves were apprehended after they attempted to steal stock from their employer’s business premises in Parthenon Street in the Phoenix vicinity, over the weekend.

According to community and media liaison officer of Blue Security, Andreas Mathios, the vigilant store owner spotted the suspects stealing the goods on the business CCTV surveillance camera at about 8:20pm on Saturday.

He said, “The suspects were spotted placing the items, valued at about R2800, into their bags around closing time.”
An onsite security officer arrested the suspects and handed them over to Phoenix police, who attended the scene of the crime.
