By Jesica Slabbert – Mar 23, 2019East London – Six suspects were arrested on Friday in East London in a joint operation with the East London K9 unit, Buffalo Flats Crime Prevention, East London Crime Intelligence and the Mdantsane OCC member for the possession of drugs, a stolen vehicle and possible stolen goods.Swift action was taken as the teams have made a firm decision and resolved not to change their goal to rid the communities they serve of the scourge of drugs and manifestations.“This action was taken after a strong suspicion and information from the members of the community that two suspects are allegedly having drugs in their vehicle,” said media spokesperson Captain Nkosikho Mzuku.Patrols lead to multiple drug busts in East LondonThe members stopped the suspicious vehicle in Needs-camp informal settlement and proceeded with a search of the car. Police discovered eight mandrax tablets and tik in the vehicle.They proceeded with patrols, stop and search operation in Buffalo flats policing precinct and arrested a suspect for possession of thirty-five mandrax tablets in Parkside.“In Scenary Park, they recovered a stolen Toyota Tazz vehicle and arrested the suspect for possession of stolen vehicle,” said Mzuku.Lastly, they recovered a laptop and arrested suspects for residential burglary and possession of possible stolen goods in Nompumelelo, Beacon bay; a few hours after the reported burglary in a Beacon bay property.The six suspects, 19 and 43 years old, are due to appear in the East London Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of possession of drugs, possession of stolen vehicle and possession possible stolen goods.Follow more RNEWS articles, subscribe to our YouTube channel and for breaking news LIKE us on Facebook.
