Cpt Louise Naidoo, communications officer of Phoenix SAPS, issued a safety warning to the community.
“Motorists, please do not leave items of value in your motor vehicle as it attracts attention to your vehicle and increase the chances of it being broken into. To the people walking the streets, do not use your cellphone or wear expensive jewellery while walking, criminals look for easy targets. When at home, do not leave the doors and windows wide open, especially at night. Do not open the door to strangers no matter how polite they may be, rather check with the company they say they are coming from in order to authenticate them,” she said.
