PRE-SCHOOL teachers recently met to ask God to give them strength. Prayer organiser Lilitha Qubela (42) told Daily Sun she decided to gather early childhood development workers and parents at Thusong Centre in Khayelitsha to invite God to help them get through the year’s challenges. “These prayer meetings are important because we get to meet each other and share what we’re facing,” she said. “We’re preparing ourselves for a difficult year ahead as our job is not easy at all.” Onesimo Pre-School principal Andisa Rasi (66) said many of her staff had quit because their jobs were so difficult.Vixi Mxunyelwa (52) said prayer helped them decide how to deal with problems. Parent Busiswa Gwilika (45) said prayers would help parents. “Most of us are single parents. We’re being helped by them looking after our kids,” she said. Busiswa said when teachers asked for God’s help, there was nothing they couldn’t do. “They did a good thing by inviting us because they’re dealing with our kids every day,” she said.
