The City of Cape Town has signed a one-point-three-billion-rand loan agreement with German government owned KFW Development Bank to finance the expansion and refurbishment of some of its wastewater treatment plants. Spokesperson for the Mayor’s office, Greg Wagner, says the loan will be used to fund some of the city’s 25 plants in areas like Zandvliet, Bellville, Macassar and Potsdam. He says cost implications for the loan have been considered in advance in terms of affordability.
