The City of Cape Town says people have been generally well behaved on the beaches despite the fact that three people have drowned over the past few days while at sea. The city’s Law Enforcement Spokesperson, Wayne Dyson says they however, have confiscated a high number of alcohol beverages around the City beaches. Dyson says law enforcement officers have shown a zero tolerance attitude so far on those that disobey the rules: “Alcohol remains a problem and a high number of confiscations bares testimony to this officers continue to show zero tolerance to alcohol on the beaches and members of the public are warned that if they chose to disobey this rule their alcohol will be confiscated and they will be fined from the first to the twentieth of December 2018 four thousand 458 bottles translating into two thousand seven hundred and eighty point three liters was confiscated.”
