The City of Cape Town says shark spotters will be deployed to eight beaches…

The City of Cape Town says shark spotters will be deployed to eight beaches from the 12th of next month until the seventh of January. Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Development, Felicity Purchase, says a shark exclusion net is already being placed at Fish Hoek beach daily. Purchase says shark activities along the coastline usually spike during warmer months. She says shark spotters will be on duty at beaches including Muizenberg, Glencairn, Clovelly, and Monwabisi. Purchase has urged beachgoers to be vigilant and to adhere to safety warnings.
