The collaboration between law enforcement, non-profit organisations, civil society and various communities is one…

The collaboration between law enforcement, non-profit organisations, civil society and various communities is one of the issues discussed at a crime summit held in Paarl in the Western Cape. Police Minister Bheki Cele is meeting with various stakeholders to discuss a last solution to crime in the Western Cape. The two-day summit ends tomorrow. It comes as communities on the Cape Flats await the deployment of the army to curb gang violence. Provincial Community Safety Minister, Albert Fritz, says communities must volunteer information to the police. He says, ” We know gangsters pay the rent of some people, gangsters pay the school fees, gangsters also have young girls that they spoil and there are consequences for that. The point was that communities must stop protecting gangsters. When people see a murder or see a crime, they must be prepared to become witnesses. Witness Protection will protect them. We must get communities to tip-off the police so that we can arrest the gangsters.”

  1. There is no need for tips off the police already know and the adresse they must just be honest police officers.
